General information:
Department of History at Kütahya Dumlupınar University, founded in 1992 within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, has been delivering high-quality education since it welcomed its first undergraduate students in 1994. Initially operating at the Germiyan Campus during the 1994–1996 academic years, the department later moved to the Central Campus, where it continues its academic activities in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences buildings.Since graduating its first cohort in 1998, the department has successfully awarded degrees to over 3,100 undergraduate students and more than 250 graduate students, contributing significantly to the field of historical studies.The department currently boasts a strong academic staff composed of 7 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 5 Assistant Professors, and 2 Research Assistants.
Offering a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to history, the department provides undergraduate and graduate programs across six main divisions: Ancient History, Medieval History, Early Modern History, Modern History, General Turkish History, and the History of the Republic of Turkey. Through its diverse curriculum and academic expertise, the department aims to equip students with critical thinking skills and a deep understanding of historical processes at both national and global levels.
